What is COVID-19 ?

COVID-19, short for Coronavirus disease 2019, is an infectious disease that primarily causes upper respiratory problems. Common symptoms include fever, shortness of breath, and fatigue. While symptoms are mild in most cases, this disease can cause pneumonia, multi-organ failure, or even death.

CSSE at the John Hopkins University confirms 119,000 cases of COVID-19 and over 4,200 deaths as of March 10th, 2020.

How to prevent COVID

There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.


Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20-30 seconds. Practice good hygiene and always wash your hands after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose or sneezing. Wash your hands frequently when you’re out in public areas.

Avoid close contact with those who are sick or are known to have been exposed to the Coronavirus
Refrain from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Use a tissue or your elbow to cover any sneeze or cough.

Clean and disinfect commonly touched objects such as door handles.
